Second shipment of Azerbaijani oil sent to Belarus


State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has sent a second shipment of oil for Belarus from the Georgian port of Supsa with a volume of 85,000 tonnes, TASS report citing Deputy Head of the Department of Event Management and Public Relations of the State Oil Company Ibrahim Ahmedov.

'The second shipment of Azerbaijani oil for Belarus in the amount of 85 thousand tonnes was sent from Supsa port,' said Ahmedov said.

The publication Belarus Today writes that in early March, Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Rumas held talks with SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev. Following the talks, Belneftekhim chairman Andrei Rybakov said that up to 1 million tonnes of Azerbaijani oil could be delivered to Belarus in 2020. In March, SOCAR exports about 250 thousand tonnes of oil to Belarus with three tankers.
