Kremlin ideologists create 'Moscow-Baku axis' (Today in Moscow)



At the initiative of the Centre for Geopolitical Studies (headed by the well-known Russian philosopher, Alexander Dugin) and the Izborsk Club (the conservative flank of the supporters of President Vladimir Putin headed by writer Alexander Prokhanov), today, on September 14, Moscow will host a conference 'The Moscow-Baku Axis: Towards a New Caucasus Geopolitics.' The conference will be held at the President Hotel in Moscow.

The purpose of the conference is to analyse the current state and prospects of Russian-Azerbaijani relations. Special attention will be paid to the cooperation of Russia and Azerbaijan in strengthening security in the Caucasus.

The event will be attended by well-known politicians, members and deputies of the State Duma of Russia, deputies of Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan and other major political and public figures, representatives of scientific and expert circles of Russia and Azerbaijan, as well as diplomats and journalists from both countries.

Among the participants are Russian presidential aide Sergei Glazyev, the leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Gennady Zyuganov, Russian senators Alexei Pushkov, Franz Klintsevich, Mikhail Kozlov, political analyst Sergei Markov, Andrei Klimov, and 13 well-known Duma deputies, in particular Leonid Kalashnikov, Dmitry Saveliev, Oksana Pushkina, Oleg Shein and other well-known public and political figures.

Azerbaijan will be represented at the conference by Chairman of the Committee on Legal Policy and State Construction of the Milli Majlis Ali Huseynli, head of the Russian community Mikhail Zabelin, rector of the Baku Music Academy Farhad Badalbeyli, deputy Rovshan Rzayev, head of website Eynulla Fatullayev, one of the heads of the Azerbaijani parliamentary opposition, MP Fazil Mustafa and others.

The conference participants will assess Azerbaijan as a subject of modern international policy, discuss the possibilities of deepening Russian-Azerbaijani relations and jointly solving regional problems. Particular attention is paid to the consideration of the prospects for a political settlement of the Karabakh conflict.
