Third Azerbaijani satellite will go into orbit (Photo)


Telecommunication satellite of Azerbaijan Azerspace-2, which is scheduled to be launched in September this year, was delivered to the Kourou cosmodrome in French Guiana. Azerspace-2 will be the third satellite of Azerbaijan put into orbit. As was told in Azercosmos OJSC, the satellite was manufactured by Space Systems Loral (SSL) on the highly reliable SSL 1300 satellite platform.

Azerspace-2 satellite will be put into orbit by means of Ariane-5 launch vehicle of Arianespace company.

The satellite will be located in the orbital position 45 degrees east longitude. The lifetime of Azerspace-2 in orbit will be at least 15 years.

The latest work on the preparation of a launch vehicle to ensure the launch of the satellite Azerspace-2 continues in accordance with the schedule.

Azerspace-2 satellite will cover the countries of Europe, Central and South-West Asia, as well as the Middle East and Tropical Africa.
