Trump strikes at Turkey anew

President of the United States Donald Trump announced that he had doubled duties on imports of Turkish aluminum and steel to 20% and 50% respectively. Trump wrote about this on his Twitter.

In his message, Trump noted that the relations between the two countries are now 'not very good.' He also noticed that the Turkish lira is rapidly falling in relation to 'our very strong dollar.'

Previously, the US imposed import duties of 25% on Chinese goods. In response, Beijing imposed duties of the same size on American products.

According to Trump, in 2017, the US lost $817 billion in international trade.
