5100 metres on General Elchin Guliyev's shoulders (Video)

Azerbaijani border guards traditionally celebrated the 26th anniversary of the Day of National Salvation of the Azerbaijani people, celebrated on 15 June. As informs Azeri Daily with reference to the press-service of the State Border Service (SBS), on 12 June 2019, the State Border Service under the slogan 'Service to the Motherland is our oath, our goal!' organised a grandiose procession with the national flag.

The national flag 5 km 100 metres long was carried on the shoulders of more than five thousand border guards, headed by generals and officers. Ahead of the column was Colonel-General Elchin Guliyev, Chief of the State Border Service.

The riders proudly carrying the sacred flag of Azerbaijan galloped before the participants of the march on the Karabakh racers.

8 helicopters, symbolising the eight-pointed star on the flag, and military equipment deployed along the entire route of movement gave the procession solemnity.

By their march, Azerbaijani border guards demonstrated loyalty to the blessed memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, national traditions of statehood, and a sense of pride in the honour of serving under the command of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev.

Speaking at the event, Chief of the SBS, Colonel-General Elchin Guliyev congratulated the personnel on the 26th anniversary of the Day of National Salvation. With great respect, the return to power of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in 1993 was noted, thanks to which, in a short period, stability was restored in the country, decline was prevented, eternity and irreversibility of state independence was ensured.
