Russian Foreign Ministry on Bolton's resignation

Moscow has no illusions about improving relations with Washington after the resignation of US Presidential Assistant for National Security John Bolton. This was announced today by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Ryabkov, TASS informs.

According to him, many positions at various levels in the US executive remain vacant, and Moscow is used to it. 'The topic is not who is doing what in Washington, but what effect it can have from the perspective of normalising relations and improving them,' said the diplomat. 'So far, unfortunately, we see that amid ongoing personnel reshuffles, no stabilisation occurs.'

'Therefore, we have no illusions, we don't have much hope in connection with what is happening,' Ryabkov emphasised. 'We urge the American side to listen to our recommendations and finally engage in straightening out bilateral relations in practical terms.'
