Elchin Guliyev checks quarantine on border with Russia (Photo)



On 25 March, Chief of Azerbaijan's State Border Service (SBS), Colonel-General Elchin Guliyev, checked the organisation of attracting Azerbaijani citizens arriving by road from the Russian Federation through the Samur border checkpoint to sanitary-quarantine measures, SBS press-service told Azeri Daily.

The organisation of security measures at the border checkpoint was checked, including the implementation of border and customs control of citizens arriving in the country, measurement of the body temperature of these people, as well as the implementation of other sanitary-quarantine measures, as well as medical evacuation of people suspected of being infected with the virus.

Then a meeting was held with citizens who arrived in the country and underwent a medical examination in a role hospital deployed by the Ministry of Emergencies of Azerbaijan. These citizens were given wide information about the activities against coronavirus conducted in Azerbaijan under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev. Colonel-General Guliyev also listened to the requests and appeals of these citizens.

SBS chief conducted an inspection of the places provided for persons placed in quarantine and the vehicles for the transportation of these persons.

Colonel-General Elchin Guliyev also checked the progress of measures to ensure the safety and health of personnel serving at the border checkpoint.

During the visit, a working meeting was held with the Chief of the Border Directorate of the FSB of Russia for the Republic of Dagestan, Lieutenant-General Alexey Buyerov. At the meeting, issues of speeding up the border crossing procedure for citizens of Azerbaijan and Russia and checking vehicles were discussed, as well as issues of border crossing by citizens temporarily only through the Samur (Azerbaijan) and Yarag-Gazmalar (RF) border checkpoints, and by road through border checkpoints Samur (AR) and Hanoba (RF).
