New border troops unit opened on border with Armenia (Photo)



On April 6, on the territory of the Gubadli district of Azerbaijan on the state border with Armenia, the service and combat activities of a new military unit began. Azeri Daily was informed about this by the press-service of the State Border Service (SBS).

According to the report, at a ceremony organised on this occasion, the Deputy Chief of the State Border Service, Lieutenant-General Ilham Mehdiyev, conveyed congratulations of the Chief of the State Border Service, Colonel-General Elchin Guliyev, to the personnel of the unit.

In Mehdiyev's speech, it was noted that every officer, commander, sergeant and soldier who honourably took part in achieving the historic victory over the enemy in the Patriotic War and serving on the currently liberated state borders, have high military-patriotic spirit, proudly serve on guard of the borders of the Motherland.

The participants of the ceremony got acquainted with the conditions at the new military unit, including the administrative building and the training centre, working premises of the personnel, barracks and canteens, classrooms, a bath and laundry complex, a warehouse, weapons and technical means, and automotive equipment. The complex is provided with permanent water, electricity and other necessary equipment.

The Training Centre has all the conditions for firing various types of small arms, mortar launchers, armoured vehicles and assessing the results of firing, increasing the combat readiness of units and improving the skills of the personnel of the State Border Service.
