First Vice-President of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva has received today the delegation headed by the Minister of Communications and Information Technologies of Iran, Mahmoud Vaezi, Azerbaijan State News Agency reports.
Having greeted the guests, First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva said she was glad that the relations between the two countries cover many spheres and that these ties are built on mutual respect.
Having said that the relations between Azerbaijan and Iran are based on historical roots, Mehriban Aliyeva brought to attention that after Azerbaijan's restoration of independence many documents were signed between the countries. She noted that the mutual visits of the presidents of Azerbaijan and Iran demonstrate the highest level of relations.
Touching upon the ties established in many spheres, the first VP of Azerbaijan said that there are more opportunities for cooperation in the humanitarian sphere, and stressed that she is ready to support this cooperation.
Minister of Communications and Information Technologies of Iran Mahmoud Vaazi congratulated Mehriban Aliyeva on her appointment as the First Vice-President of Azerbaijan, expressed confidence that she will contribute to the further development of Iranian-Azerbaijani relations.
Mahmoud Vaezi said that he was informed about the activities of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, led by Mehriban Aliyeva, highly appreciated the work carried out by the Foundation.
Having said that he witnessed the festive mood in the country, the guest noted that this holiday is solemnly celebrated in Azerbaijan, and conveyed congratulations in connection with the Novruz holiday.
