'In past years, according to my information, 30 per cent of the value of exported goods did not return to the country, settled on accounts abroad. It is unacceptable. Foreign currency should flow into the country in full, and now a new mechanism has been activated. If a company wants to obtain the right to invest and promote export, it must necessarily follow the new rules.' With such a loud statement, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev addressed the republican conference of non-oil exporters held in Yevlakh yesterday.
According to Ilham Aliyev, the transport sector represents a priority for the government: 'Now we will increase exports. We export by transport. Therefore, we must reconsider the potential of our fleet of railway carriages, as we are now purchasing new electric locomotives and carriages. The number of carriages should correspond to the scale and potential of our export capabilities.'
