President of Bulgaria phoned Ilham Aliyev


Presidents of Azerbaijan and Bulgaria, Ilham Aliyev and Rumen Radev held a telephone conversation today, informs the press-service of the Azerbaijani head of state.

'President of Bulgaria Rumen Radev called Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev by phone on January 9. He expressed gratitude to the President of Azerbaijan for the opening since January 16, 2018 of direct air communication between Baku and Sofia,' the message says.

Ilham Aliyev, in his turn, stressed that the opening of direct air communication will become an important part of the expansion of relations between Azerbaijan and Bulgaria.

'Rumen Radev also noted the important role of Azerbaijan in the implementation of the Southern Gas Corridor project, which will allow diversifying the sources of natural gas supplies to Europe and expressed interest in Azerbaijan's participation in the gasification of Bulgaria,' the report says.

Ilham Aliyev noted that SGC is being successfully implemented, in 2018 construction of the TANAP gas pipeline will be completed, and in the near future Azerbaijani gas will be supplied to Bulgaria.

'During the conversation, Rumen Radev invited Ilham Aliyev to pay an official visit to Bulgaria,' the press-service said.
