President Ilham Aliyev: 'Unlike Armenia, we do not beg from anyone'

Azerbaijani army will continue to be strengthened and be ready to fulfil any task. This was, in particular, said by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in his opening speech at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers devoted to the results of socio-economic development for 2017 and forthcoming tasks.

'We are building up our military power. Today, according to the international rating, the Azerbaijani army is on the list of strong armies on a world scale. We are doing everything necessary for our army. The material and technical base of our army is being strengthened. Military bases, towns, military units are being reconstructed, are being overhauled. Already 80 per cent of our military camps, bases, units meet international standards. Repair work of other military units that are in need of repair must be completed in the coming years. How much money is needed will be allocated. Including funds allocated for the purchase of new modern weapons,' said President Ilham Aliyev.

The head of state noted that unlike poor Armenia, Azerbaijan lives at its own expense, including building its military power at its own expense.'Unlike Armenia, we do not beg, we do not implore anyone, we do not apply for loans. Therefore, the public of Azerbaijan and the enemy should know that the Azerbaijani army will continue to strengthen, and is ready to fulfil any task. Recent history has shown this,' said the Azerbaijani president.
