Ramiz Mehdiyev meets with Kazakh delegation (Photo)


Head of the Azerbaijani President's Administration Ramiz Mehdiyev has met with a delegation led by head of Chancellery of the President of Kazakhstan Makhmud Kasymbekov, informs Azerbaijan State News Agency.

Prior to the meeting, Ramiz Mehdiyev noted that President Ilham Aliyev signed an Order conferring Taraggi medal upon members of the Kazakh delegation for their contributions to the strengthening of Azerbaijani-Kazakh relations, and presented the Order to them.

Head of the Presidential Administration Ramiz Mehdiyev hailed the exemplary relations between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.

Providing an insight into the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Academician Ramiz Mehdiyev noted that 20 per cent of the Azerbaijani lands are still under the Armenian occupation. Head of the Presidential Administration underlined that Azerbaijan stands for peaceful settlement of the conflict despite the fact that his country has sovereign rights to liberate its territories by other means.

Head of Chancellery of the Kazakh President Makhmud Kasymbekov asked academician Ramiz Mehdiyev to extend President Nursultan Nazarbayev's greetings to President Ilham Aliyev.

Makhmud Kasymbekov hailed the fact that President Ilham Aliyev maintains solid friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, the foundation of which was laid by national leader Heydar Aliyev and Nursultan Nazarbayev.

He noted that Kazakhstan is home to a 150,000-strong Azerbaijani community whose members are represented in all spheres of society.

Head of the Kazakh delegation expressed his confidence that friendship and partnership between the two countries will continue strengthening.

Makhmud Kasymbekov then presented a book dedicated to Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev to academician Ramiz Mehdiyev.
