Azerbaijani FM: 'We were able to deeply understand moments at talks with Yerevan'

At the Moscow meeting of the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Russia and Armenia with the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group several proposals were discussed and certain decisions were made. The Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan, Elmar Mammadyarov, told journalists about this.

'Broad substantive negotiations have been held. Initially, a trilateral meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia took place. Issues that so far hindered the progress of negotiations were discussed in a concrete form. I cannot say about a full progress. However, we were able to more fully and deeply understand the moments that caused our problems with the Armenian side,' said Mammadyarov.

The minister added that discussions were conducted around the plan proposed by Russia in 2016.

'Naturally, one meeting cannot solve all the issues. The achievement of this meeting was that we understood what problems there are, what problems need to be solved. For example, Armenia raises issues related to status and security. We, first of all, focus on the withdrawal of Armenian troops from the occupied territories and the return of internally displaced persons to their native lands. Discussions were held around these four issues, it was decided to continue negotiations,' said the Azerbaijani FM.
