Ilham Aliyev wrote to Russian counterpart


Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev congratulated his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on Russia Day, informs the press-service of the Azerbaijani head of state.

'Dear Vladimir Vladimirovich! On behalf of the people of Azerbaijan and on my own behalf, I cordially congratulate you and in your person all the people of friendly Russia on the national holiday - Russia Day. Azerbaijan and Russia are traditionally linked by close relations of friendship, good-neighbourliness and cooperation. It is gratifying that these relations, vividly expressing the will of our peoples, now have the character of a strategic partnership. The interaction of our countries on a wide range of issues is of particular satisfaction,' the message of congratulations says.

Ilham Aliyev expressed confidence that the comprehensive and multifaceted cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia will continue to develop and strengthen in the interests of the two peoples and countries, in the name of peace, security and stability in the region.

'I wish you, dear Vladimir Vladimirovich, good health, happiness and success, and all Russians peace and prosperity,' the congratulatory letter says.
