Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry on Pashinyan's statements from Khankendi

Speaking on 5 August in occupied Khankendi, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan has voiced populist statements that are completely far from reality, which demonstrates the degree of his ignorance of what is happening in the region and the world as a whole, as well as his weakness as a politician. This is said in a statement by the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan, received by the editorial office of Azeri Daily.

'Despite the fact that his statements were mainly intended for an internal audience, this does not give him any reason to call for the annexation of the Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan.

The aggressive statements of the prime minister of Armenia are in clear contradiction with the spirit and essence of many years of negotiations on the settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, including the discussions that took place during the recent meetings between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

This is also a strong blow to the negotiation process, mediated by the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group. Such statements by the political leader of Armenia, which are completely foreign to the subject of many years of negotiations, do not correspond to the calls of Armenia itself for 'an exclusively peaceful resolution of the conflict.' Pashinyan's speech in Khankendi revealed his true face,' reads the statement.
