Patrushev discusses with Pashinyan participation of Armenian troops in Syria



The visit of the Secretary of the Security Council of Russia, Nikolai Patrushev to Armenia began, Azeri Daily reports with reference to the press-service of the Security Council of Russia.

Nikolai Patrushev discussed with the Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, Armen Grigoryan issues of national and information security of the two countries.

It is noted that the parties considered a wide range of issues related to cooperation between Russia and Armenia through the apparatus of security councils, law enforcement agencies, military departments and special services.

The interlocutors exchanged views on the state of regional security.

Grigoryan and Patrushev also talked about the interaction of the two countries within the framework of the EAEU, CIS, CSTO and on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.

The secretary of the Security Council of Russia emphasised the importance of close cooperation between Moscow and Yerevan on issues of international information security. In his opinion, this issue is of serious importance for the stable development of the two states, as well as for the effective fight against terrorism and extremism.

Then Nikolai Patrushev held talks with the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan. At the meeting, there were discussed topical issues on the international agenda, in particular the restoration of peaceful life in Syria.

Recall that in Syria there is a limited contingent of Armenian armed forces as part of the Russian forces. Issues of the stay of Armenian specialists in Syria, their status, activities and security are regulated in accordance with Armenian legislation. And the issues of the delivery of Armenian specialists to Syria, as well as their logistics support, are carried out with the support of the Russian side.
