Lavrov's statement on Karabakh caused a stir in Yerevan (Pashinyan infuriated)

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is dissatisfied with the activities of Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, in particular, in the Karabakh issue and regarding work with the Russian side, writes newspaper 'Past.'

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov at the beginning of October at a meeting of the Valdai club in Sochi said that despite the relative calm on the contact line between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the negotiation process could not be removed from the 'brakes.' And statements that 'Karabakh is Armenia' do not help create an atmosphere for the resumption of the political process, said the Russian minister.

'The prime minister is angry because of Lavrov's unexpected and tough statement. Mentioning Pashinyan's statement 'Karabakh is Armenia, and that's that,' the Russian minister practically blamed the Armenian side, and this happens for the first time. In this regard, Pashinyan believes that Mnatsakanyan did not do properly his job and didn’t explain to the Russian side the significance of his statement, did not present the position of the Armenian side,' the newspaper writes.
