Number of metro passengers reduced in Baku

The number of passengers decreased in the Baku metro, Bakhtiyar Mammadov, Spokesman for the Baku Metro CJSC, told Trend Agency.

According to him, the new rules that came into force contributed to this.

He recalled that according to the introduced rules, it had already been several days that people with non-Baku residence registration had been temporarily banned from entering the capital, which affected the reduction in the number of people using the metro. In addition, the number of tourists who previously also used metro services has decreased. The Baku Metro supports the slogan #evdəqal (stay at home), urging everyone to stay home.

The spokesman added that the greater the distance between people, the lower the risk of coronavirus infection: 'Therefore, it is recommended to use the metro as little as possible.'

Recall that on 23 March, the Cabinet of Ministers held a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Ali Asadov, which discussed the situation with coronavirus infection in the country and decided to apply a special quarantine regime to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection.
