Azerbaijan closes again for quarantine


The Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers made a decision to extend the special quarantine regime in Azerbaijan until 6 am on 28 December. Azeri Daily was informed about this in the Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers.

Since a high dynamics of infection with the COVID-19 virus has been recorded in recent days, it was decided to introduce the following restrictions:

- the restriction on passenger activity in the Baku Metro is extended until 6 am on December 28, 2020;

- from 12 am on November 21, 2020 to 6 am on December 28, 2020, public transport will stop operating on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the country;

- from November 21 to December 28, with the exception of vital activities, including those of pharmacies and grocery stores, on-site services are suspended on weekends;

- from November 21, 2020, during the period of the special quarantine regime in all closed and open spaces throughout the country, the use of medical masks becomes mandatory. Monitoring compliance with the rules for the use of masks will be tightened;

- people over 65 years old who are at high risk are not advised to leave home unnecessarily;

- organisations operating in the private sector and other spheres are recommended to reduce the number of employees by up to 30%, and transfer other employees to a remote mode of work.
