'The relative decline in the number infected persons indicates a positive trend. However, we did not defeat the virus.' This was announced at a press-conference today by Ibrahim Mammadov, Spokesman for the Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers.

According to him, discussions are ongoing on ending the quarantine regime.

'It is discussed at what stage economic activity will begin, schools and universities will open. It is even discussed how we will live after the end of quarantine. When the time comes, these questions will be answered. It's too early to talk about resuming education process,' he said.

At the same time, Chairman of the TƏBİB Board, Ramin Bayramli said that the quarantine regime could not last too long due to a number of factors.

'Partial easing of the quarantine regime is very important. However, it is not possible to immediately end the quarantine regime. This can cause a second wave of disease. Studies show that quarantine measures cannot be taken lightly. During this time, all necessary steps have been taken, but there is no need to relax. After 20 April, we will come up with proposals for a partial easing of the quarantine regime. In this regard, special rules will be prepared and the public will be informed,' he said.
