Before war, Pashinyan had two communication channels with Aliyev (Vanetsyan's loud statement)

The head of the opposition parliamentary faction 'I Have the Honour,' ex-director of the National Security Service of Armenia Artur Vanetsyan stated that, besides him, another official of the state apparatus provided operational communication between Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, the Armenian media write.

At the same time, Vanetsyan did not want to name this official. He also denied information that this connection was provided by ex-adviser to the head of the Armenian government Arsen Kharatyan.

According to Vanetsyan, being the head of the National Security Service, he personally communicated with his Azerbaijani counterpart and spoke with him exclusively about security issues. At the beginning of 2019, Pashinyan said that on certain issues, another official would also maintain contact with the Azerbaijani side. When asked whether he tried to find out what topics this very official was discussing with the Azerbaijani side, Vanetsyan said that the department does not follow the staff of the prime minister's office.
