Pashinyan commented on aggravation at Azerbaijani-Armenian border

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, commenting on the recent aggravation at the border with Azerbaijan at a Cabinet meeting today, stated his country's commitment to the peaceful development of the South Caucasus. The head of the Armenian government once again spoke about Yerevan's course towards advancing the era of peace agenda in the region.

'Unfortunately, incidents at the border continue, resulting in casualties. We have announced our policy. I spoke about two things, and this is reflected in the government's program. One of our primary tasks is to consistently increase the defence capability of our country. But, on the other hand, I said that in order to open the agenda of peaceful development proclaimed by us for Armenia and the region, we need strong nerves,' the Armenian media quote Pashinyan.

According to the Armenian PM, many will try to prove that this is impossible: 'But we will consistently move along this path and must do everything to create a stable and safe environment around our country.'

It should be reminded that on January 11, an armed provocation was undertaken by the armed forces of Armenia on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border in the Kalbajar direction. A soldier Ayaz Nazarov was killed in the attack on an Azerbaijani Army post.
